Thank you for this heartfelt and vulnerable post. Regulating the nervous system is an act of resistance, IMO!

Aunt Cindy, PLEASE don’t slow down, please don’t speak less!! People need to continue to speak up & let our voices & actions be heard! On June 14th, the nationwide No Kings Protests hopefully will rain down on Trump’s 80th birthday. We need power in numbers!!!

Love your perspective, Cindy. It helps clear my thoughts and focus on what's important in this moment.

Cindy - I'm so glad you're back to writing! I didn't realize how much I missed it.

Several months ago, I reached a point that I simply couldn't digest all the filth that keeps getting thrown our way. I keep up with the news but try not let it take over, and instead focus on what I can DO. It's just a little -- show up at protests, write postcards, donate some money where I believe it will help, message my reps in Congress.

It occurred to me while reading your piece that the reason so many self-proclaimed Christians are so bad at it is that it's really, really hard to love your enemy. Personally, I can't even tolerate them. I have to believe that we will come out of this on the other side with something of a democracy intact. I'm just so goddamned disappointed in so many of my fellow citizens.
